We asked over 7,300 women what influence most strongly shaped their generosity. Do you know what the number one answer was?

A growing conviction that God owns it all.

Viewing our resources, our opportunities, and our occupations as given by God for His glory and our stewardship makes a tremendous difference in our peace of mind and freedom of heart. The job we have—it’s God given. The opportunities that came our way last year—they came from Him. Our bank balance—yes, that’s His too.

In 1 Chronicles, King David committed to give all of his personal wealth to help build the temple—one of the largest outpourings of generosity in history. He shared his firm belief in God’s sovereign ownership of everything in a bold, beautiful prayer.

“Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the One who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for You rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.”

1 Chronicles 29:11-13 NLT

Take a few minutes to consider David’s prayer as your own. What does it say to you in your current circumstances?
