Ignite News: September 2017 Edition

Welcome to Ignite News!

No matter what season of life you may be in, September can be a really active time. This year we’ve added two historic storms, fires in the west and global unrest to the mix. I am grateful that God has placed His light in women across the country. This month we meet an igniter from Portland, celebrate When Women Give, and hear how we can help and not hurt the relief efforts in Houston, Florida and now Puerto Rico.

1) What is a word or phrase that describes your view of giving before encountering the biblical message of generosity?

Limited.

2) What is one key way that WDW helps you progress in your generosity journey?

WDW helps me to explore my purpose, examine my resources, and provides me with examples of others’ journeys of generosity.  Not everyone gives the same way or in the same magnitude.  We can all give our treasure, our talent, our time or the combination of any of the above.

3) If you had to describe the WDW woman in 3 words what would those be?

Expand my vision.

One of our volunteer leaders, Kim King, recently published a book to inspire generosity, and HOW to move forward on the journey. In When Women Give, she shares own experience and the stories of many other women, and includes practical advice and tools.

We hope that you may even consider getting a friend or two to read it together and begin or continue to build a community of like-minded strong and compassionate women.
