Experience the Journey Together

There’s nothing like time away with friends to refresh your spirit. What if you could use your time together to talk about what it means to be generous?

A Journey of Generosity (JOG) is a 24-hour retreat gathering guided by a trained facilitator and hosted by someone who wants to encourage a conversation about generosity among friends. Together you explore the life-changing message of generosity and the power it has to bring joy, freedom, and purpose. Hosting is an important role because this message will spread through women sharing it with other women. We recently asked Marie Tittle of Atlanta about her experience hosting a Journey of Generosity.

Screen Shot 2016-05-16 at 5.35.37 PMWDW: Marie, you are a very busy mom with two girls and a job as an executive at a financial advisory firm. What benefit did hosting a Journey of Generosity (JOG) Retreat have for you?

MT: I would say my relationships from doing a JOG really went to a deeper place because we experienced the journey together.

WDW: Was it hard to host?

MT: We all have so much going on so I thought, “I want to do one of these; I just don’t have the time.” But I really wanted to make it happen. So I took that step of faith. Investing my time and just being able to love on my friends has had a huge Kingdom impact. Hosting was relatively simple. I secured a location and then I just got on the phone, called my friends, and said, “Come with me and let’s go deeper into the area of generosity.”

WDW: Are you glad you hosted?

MT: When I attended the JOG for myself, it was like somebody had given me a gift. I really wanted to be able to share that gift with my friends. So by hosting my own event I was able to give them the gift and have them unwrap it. Now that we’ve all experienced it I don’t feel so alone in the journey. I have my friends with me and it’s so much fun.

Thank you Marie! It’s great to hear some of the benefits of hosting. If you are interested in learning more about hosting a Journey of Generosity to share this message with others contact Lacie@womendoingwell.org.
