Women’s influence in philanthropy is growing, and with it, an opportunity to better understand how faith, values, and purpose shape charitable giving.

Recently, Philanthropy Roundtable featured Well and highlighted key findings from our Women, Wealth, and Faith research, exploring how Christian women are approaching generosity and why their voices matter in the future of philanthropy.

As women continue to control a greater share of wealth and play a leading role in household giving decisions, understanding what motivates and empowers them to give has never been more important. Our latest research reveals that faith and family remain the strongest drivers of generosity among Christian women. It also uncovers important challenges, including donor fatigue, concerns about financial security, and questions about charitable impact.

At the same time, the findings point to a hopeful reality: Christian women are highly engaged in philanthropy and increasingly confident in their ability to make a difference. The research shows that women who gain experience in giving decisions become more confident, more strategic, and ultimately more generous over time.

These insights are part of the ongoing Women, Wealth, and Faith research initiative, a groundbreaking effort to better understand the motivations, barriers, and opportunities shaping Christian women’s generosity today. Building on our original landmark study, the 2025 research offers valuable perspectives for women, families, nonprofit leaders, pastors, and philanthropic organizations seeking to engage women more effectively.

We’re grateful to Philanthropy Roundtable for helping elevate this important conversation. Their recent article explores many of the key themes emerging from the research and highlights why women’s leadership in philanthropy is needed now more than ever.
