 What comes next?

It’s a question I found myself asking several years ago.

At just the right time, God revealed that next step. I enrolled in The Masters Program for Women (TMP for Women) and began a three-year journey with a small group of women. The program trained us to look at our lives from an eternal point of view. Together, we learned how to:

  • include Him in everything
  • reflect His nature in operating with no ulterior motive from a noble and willing heart, and
  • share time, ability, and treasure to bless others on our journey of discovery.
A new path to follow

This paradigm shift sharpened my focus, motivation, thinking, and actions. It altered—for the better—my perspective of time, who God made me to be, and the exciting things He has for me to do. His calling on my life made more sense. I began to accept His grace on a deeper level, trust and abide in Him by letting go of unnecessary things, and see that He’d always been there.

The stage was set for the Lord God to lead. All I needed to do was be still to hear His voice and have a willing heart to take the next step.

The journey continues

One of my God-inspired visions was to pour benevolence back into the country where my ancestors had come to know the Son and where my parents went to missionary schools. I sought the Lord about this dream and shared it with my group from TMP for Women. God provided direction and the group provided valuable feedback.

Shortly after my graduation from TMP for Women, I set up a charitable foundation in Hong Kong. Its vision is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to Asia, particularly Hong Kong and China. Today, I help disciple and educate Asian children in the gospel through two well-known programs, and support local language Bible translations among minorities in China.

What I learned in The Masters Program for Women showed me a much better way, encapsulated in these words from Jesus to His disciples:

“I am the vine; you are the branches.

The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit,

because you can do nothing without me.” John 15:5 (NIV)
